Mandala Monday 026

Hey Friend!

Did you know that I have a purple house?  Surprised?  Well, there’s a story behind that.  When I was a little girl, every now & then my Momma would load up us kids & head into Oklahoma City.  Of course, it’s the state capitol but we were way more interested in the roller rink & the shopping mall back then. 

Well, on the way to the city, and then again on the way home, we’d pass by a purple house and I mean it was PUR-ple.  In fact, I’m pretty sure it was the exact same shade as the grape bubble gum balls we blew bubbles with in the backseat. My Momma would shake her head & say the same thing every single time we drove by there:  “ I can’t be-LEEVE that man painted his house PUR-ple!”  like it was the most ridiculous thing she’d ever seen. 

 Well, I couldn’t believe it either because I thought that was the coolest thing I’d ever seen.  So fast forward about half a century & lo & behold, I have a purple house.  Did you recognize the gables up there in the corners?
